We removed and disposed of the building’s existing roof system until the roof sheathing was exposed. Any wood sheathing boards that were unusable were replaced before a layer of GAF self-adhered underlayment was installed on all roof penetrations and valleys. Following this, a secondary layer of GAF synthetic underlayment was installed to allow for the placement of GAF starter shingle strips on the eaves and rakes. For proper water drainage, metal drip edges were secured along the roof’s perimeter, along with new pipe flashings on all existing penetrations. Chimney counter flashings were installed before the GAF Timberline HDz RS shingles and ridge caps were installed, followed by twenty low-profile attic dormers. Lastly, all flashings were painted to match the GAF Stone Grey shingle color.
